Bonnie Whitting, RN, MS, L.Ac.

Bonnie has been a Registered Nurse for 41 years, having received her nursing
degree in St. Cloud, Minnesota, in 1969. During the ensuing years her work in
medical care varied from ICU-CCU-ER nursing to ambulatory care in pediatrics,
ENT, orthopedics, gynecology, dermatology and family practice.
Her involvement in acupuncture began in 1996 when she entered a four-year post-graduate
program at South Baylo University, resulting in a double Masters Degree in Traditional
Chinese Medicine and Chinese Herbology. She served her internship at South Baylo.
Additional studies included an 18-month program in Orthopedic Acupuncture and
QME preparation through the Lerner School of Orthopedic Medicine. She has taken
advanced courses in Allergy Elimination and Emotional Release Therapy.
Bonnie has extensive experience working with nutrition and weight loss issues,
as well as mood disorders. She has advanced training in the treatment and relief
of migraine and tension headaches, along with a broad background in muscle and
skeletal pain relief, particularly as they relate to trauma and arthritis. Currently
she is participating in a UCI Research Study to control high blood pressure
and cardiac arrhythmias through the use of acupuncture. For the past three years
Bonnie has done intensive study in the field of infertility and has a sincere
desire to help couples fulfill their dreams of parenting.
Bonnie is licensed by the California Board of Acupuncture and holds a National
Certification through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture
and Oriental Medicine in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. She has been
working with Women's Medical Group of Irvine for seven years as a participant
in Dr. Gersh's efforts to integrate Western Allopathic Medicine with Eastern
TCM Medicine, hoping to offer the best of both worlds to her patients.
Bonnie was born in Milaca, Minnesota, is married and lives in Lake Forest. When
she is not in her garden, she is involved with family, church and community
activities.
